Clerk's Clothing Drive Benefits Homeless Orange County Citizens

Rethink Homelessness - rethinkhomelessness.org

Each year, the Clerk's Office votes on a service project. We have so far helped out Toys for Tots, local schools, and Habitat for Humanity to name a few. With roughly 50% of the vote, we will be hosting a clothing and supply drive in partnership with the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness, a non-profit organization committed to eradicating homelessness in Central Florida.

The Central Florida Commission on Homelessness is a non-profit organization, committed to eradicating homelessness in Central Florida. Their Rethink Homelessness initiative is a strategic creative grassroots initiative to help the community rethink who the homeless really are in Central Florida. Many people are surprised to learn that 80% of our community’s homeless are families and children. We will partner with the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness to coordinate our collection and delivery of  the clothing and supply drive items to those in need in Orange County.

For the month of February, all of our locations will be drop-off sites for supplies. We will collect:

Clothes (new or gently used): coats, sweaters, socks, scarfs, gloves, hats
Hygiene Products: diapers, toiletries (soap, shampoo, shaving cream, etc.)

No financial contributions will be collected, however, you can donate directly online to Central Florida Commission on Homelessness at their website: http://rethinkhomelessness.org/.
