Traffic Ticket Option 4: Enter Plea of Nolo Contendre
If you received a citation for one of the following violations you may elect to enter a plea of Nolo Contendre in lieu of payment of the statutory fine or appearance in court:
Expired driver’s license
Expired tag
Failure to carry/exhibit driver’s license
Failure to carry/exhibit registration
No proof of insurance
Driving with suspended driver’s license without knowledge
To enter a plea of Nolo Contendre, you must:
Return plea with payment and a copy of valid driver’s license, insurance or registration to the
Clerk’s Office
* You may elect to file a Plea of Nolo Contendre once in a 12-month period and no more than
three times in your lifetime.

In person: Cash, personal check, money order, cashier's check, MasterCard, Discover
and American Express*
Please Note:
- The Clerk's office charges a $3.99 fee for payments made with a credit card
- We do not accept Visa for payments made in person*
- Any document(s) received electronically by the Traffic Division after 5:00 pm Eastern Time will be time stamped the next business day
