Dissolution of Marriage with Children

Dissolution of Marriage is the legal term for divorce. There are several types of Dissolution of Marriage, including Simplified Dissolution of Marriage, Dissolution of Marriage with No Children and No Property and Dissolution of Marriage with No Children.

Filing Forms
 
There are two options for filing for Dissolution of Marriage:
  • Customers may purchase the forms (including filing instructions) from the Clerk's office

    OR

  • Customers may provide their own forms
The forms may be purchased from Family Services for $15.00:

Filing for Dissolution of Marriage
  • Take completed forms to Room 330 to be reviewed and notarized (this office closes at 3:30 pm)
  • Return to Room 320 to meet with a clerk
  • Once the case is filed, Family Court Services will contact the petitioner with instructions (usually within 30 days)
  • If no further filing is required, the petitioner will receive a hearing date and time via mail

Please Note: Once forms have been completed for a Dissolution of Marriage, Paternity or Name Change in the Clerk's office, you must go to Room 330, Family Court Services, before 3:30 pm to have your pleadings reviewed and notarized, then return to Room 320 to meet with a clerk.

The filing fee for Dissolution of Marriage is $408.00.
